1923 Ford Roadster

Roadster Frame and Wheels Frame Print 283 Corvette Engine
Owner: Jim Sibley
Make: Ford
Model: Roadster
Year: 1928
Details:

This car was built from a door, gas tank and a cowl. The rest of the body, and frame was hand made by myself. It has a powerglide trans, 49 Ford rear, and 40 Ford steering. It was built for just over $5000.00 and consists of a 283 pulled from a 1961 Ccorvette. The transmission is a 2 speed powerglide taken from a 1963 Impala, which is shifted by a 62 Chevy II SS floor shifter. The power is transferred to the 1950 ford rear end where it is then spent on a set of red stripe cheater slicks. The slicks as well as the Weind 3 duece intake, carbs and the original 32 grill shell were all found in a local rodders basement.

The body was hand fabricated from 20 guage sheet metal. Well, most of it anyway. I started with a door, cowl, and gastank to a 1928 ford roadster and then formed the rest.   The frame is also hand made from 2x3 box tubing from front to back, where it meets up with a stock model A rear spring mt.

The car was built entirely by myself with the exception of the interior which was stitched by the able hands of Armondos Auto Upholstry in Lakeside, CA.
